Despite the barren, unhabitated look of this area from the other pictures in this series, the cafe looks rather robust. Can't tell if it was operating or not. Apparently the lead mining in this area never amounted to much. It's revival attempt by C.C. Julian in the mid 1920s didn't work either, so as these 1931 photos show, the community disappeared fast.
