Thanks to viewer Jim Morrison, here is a more detailed description of this view along with the photo he references.
Jim writes, "This photo was taken looking west along Pine Street towards Bodie Creek. Just out of range bottom right hand corner would have been the supervisors house and the road leading down from upper right to lower right was the northern access road used prior to 1864. After that construction began on Antelope Street north which now passes by the cemetary and leads out to 9 mile ranch. The esmaralda hotel is the structure just off dead center to the left side and is shaded."
