On that fateful day, October 26, 1881, somewhere behind this nondescript yard, the gun battle took place – the gun battle that was destined to live on forever. This photo was shot in 1932, 51 years after the shoot out.

Thank you to John for this: Again, great perspective looking toward the site of the shooting in the alley and out into Fremont Street. Addie Bourland’s was across the street. The only thing that takes place in the lot to the south is the current reenactment with little relationship to reality.
